How to Measure

Measure First

Measure Second
1. First measure the circumference, or distance around, the arm or leg 3 to 4 inches above where the cast ends. If the cast comes up close to the elbow or knee measure above the joint. This measurement is the most important as it will be where the cover seals.
2. Measure the length from the end of the cast to the tip of the middle finger for an arm or to the heel of the foot for the leg. If the cast goes above the elbow or knee make sure to measure the length following the bend rather than straight from top to bottom.

When finding the correct size to order do not worry if the size you come up with is longer than your cast. The excess will be compensated for when the air is pumped out and the cover is sealed.

*When measuring for a PICC line use the measuring technique described in step 1. Measure the circumference above (bicep) and below (forearm) the PICC or IV. Make sure to find the correct size that matches with both measurements to create a tight seal.
